Frequently Asked Questions

Yes. As a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® (CFP®) professional, I am required to act as a fiduciary at all times. This means I am legally and ethically obligated to put your best interests first when providing financial advice. Unlike other financial professionals who may only have to meet a “suitability” standard, I always prioritize what is best for you, ensuring the advice and strategies I offer are tailored to your specific needs and goals.

We are a fee-only firm, which means that we only get compensated by the fees that our clients pay for financial planning and investment management. We do not make commissions, kickbacks, or any other form of compensation for our recommendations. This ensures my advice is in your best interest.

None – we have no asset minimums to work with us. While many advisors require clients to have a certain amount invested before they offer services, I believe financial planning should be accessible to everyone, regardless of where you are on your financial journey. My goal is to help you build wealth, whether you’re just getting started or looking to grow what you’ve already accumulated.

We take a passive investing approach, which means we focus on low-cost, broadly diversified investments like index funds, rather than buying individual stocks or trying to time the market. We believe in sticking to a long-term strategy rather than trying to “beat the market” through speculation. The real value I provide is in the financial planning process, where I act as your partner – helping you set clear goals, navigate life’s financial decisions, and build wealth over time. If you’re looking for a collaborative approach to building a solid financial future without taking unnecessary risks, we may be a great fit.

Canela Wealth is a virtual firm, so all of our meetings are conducted via videoconference. Outside of meetings, reach out to us by email.

Please upload your documents to the secure client portal through RightCapital.

You can cancel at any time, no questions asked. While we do ask for a one-year commitment for ongoing financial planning to help you experience the benefits of our financial planning process, I understand that needs can change. In fact, I’d be glad if you cancel because it means we’ve put you in a position where you no longer need ongoing financial planning. My goal is to empower you with the tools and knowledge to feel confident in managing your financial life. Of course, I’m always here if your situation changes or if you need further guidance in the future.
